Innovative Underwriting
At Alaska National, our service activities begin long before a policy is ever issued.
When a new account is submitted for our consideration, a designated underwriter
promptly reviews the submission and provides the producing broker a timely indication
of interest. This allows the producing broker to move forward efficiently, including
making provision for any additional information needed to complete our underwriting
review.
To enhance the underwriting process, we often schedule a loss control visit
to the policyholder’s place of business. This early visit identifies exposures
and opportunities for accident prevention, while also laying important groundwork
for a more comprehensive loss prevention service plan should coverage be bound
with Alaska National.
At this stage, our tailored underwriting analysis is completed and we then
communicate our formal quote proposal to the producing broker, both verbally
and in writing. If our proposal is accepted, our lead underwriter for the
policyholder promptly notifies all members of Alaska National’s service team by
written underwriting notice, and we proceed with full implementation of our
customized services.
