Dedication to Loss Control
Alaska National maintains a large, in-house staffed loss control team
whose mission is to provide effective personalized safety advice to
policyholders throughout our operating territory.
Our loss control professionals are well-credentialed by nationally
recognized safety organizations, including The Board of Certified Safety
Professionals and The American Industrial Hygiene Association. All members
of our team possess substantial, broad-based work experience and use that
experience to bring practical, real-life solutions to the diverse and
often distinctive needs of our customers.
Services available to our policyholders include safety management
consulting, program audits, training and education, accident investigation,
industrial hygiene and ergonomic assistance, loss control resource center
access, together with utilization of proven loss trends analysis and hazard
identification surveys.
In addition, for accounts with customized service plans, we conduct
in-person loss control visits at key locations from which a report of
findings and recommendations is prepared for use by the policyholder in
strengthening their accident prevention program. Depending on particular
policyholder assessment findings, continuing loss control visits may be
offered until exposures are controlled or eliminated. For interested accounts,
a comprehensive loss control evaluation of the policyholder’s operations,
known as COMPASS, is undertaken to further identify opportunities for the
customer to strengthen their programs.
